Southern University and A&M College System

Southern University and A & M College....the largest Historically Black Land Grant University System in the United States is pleased to join the other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in establishing the Business Information System network (BISNet), an on-line, wide area network telcommunication system that will allow users access to some of the most current and effective business information and strategies available today.

The University has a strong tradition of providing educational and technical assistance in business and economic development for rural communities and entrepreneurs. For example,

Southern University's administrators, faculty, staff and students are committed to assisting rural communities and entrepreneurs. Through a grant from the Rural Business-Cooperative Service of USDA, the University's Center for Rural and Small Business Development has successfully provided management and technical assistance to small and/or rural businesses and communities. These businesses and communities are provided hands-on assistance by the Center's staff. It is evident that services provided by the Center's staff have played a vital role in improving the quality of life for rural America.

We hope that you find the Business Information System Network beneficial and resourceful. For a pictorial perusal of the Southern University System click here.
